I'm Not As Lazy As I Think

Normally I am an Airbnb host, but after 6 years of nonstop hosting and not having a summer off, my hubby and I decided to block off some time to enjoy ourselves.

All excited, I plan an epic road trip to cideries in the NW. That was AWESOME and will be discussed in a later blog.  The veggie garden is rocking, and I am making all kinds of plans for things I am going to can and pickle and otherwise process for future eating.

Anyhow, not quite mid-July, when things are going great and more vacations are being planned, I take a step up to the house, loaded with groceries, and something goes snap in the back of my knee. I can no longer stand. Even the thought of trying to put any kind of weight on it is a huge pile of Nope. I can, however, scoot backwards on my butt and work my way up the steps while dragging the groceries. I am NOT going to waste all the yummy junk food I bought by leaving it set out in the sun to melt or attract allthewaspsandflies.

The end process of all this is I finally completed a tear of my medial meniscus and had surgery two weeks ago. It is close to the end of August, and I still have 4 more weeks on crutches, and as of right now cannot put weight on that leg. The past 6 weeks have seen me pretty much on the bed with my leg propped up and lots of ice.

You know, I thought I would relish the time of being able to sit on my fat, happy ass eating bon bons and watching HGTV and the Hallmark channel, but no, I am bored.

One benefit is my hubby is finding out exactly how much I do(even I am surprised).  Fortunately he has a job that allows him to work from home. Unfortunately he is spending 4-6 hours a day doing my stuff, including all the cooking and putting in his 8-10 hours on Work work. This does not include walking the granddog, one of my main sources of exercise and fresh air. Like major 2-5 mile walks or hikes every day.

In short, I am going stir crazy and decided to start blogging and sharing some of the smart and stupid things I have done over the years which have made for some legendary tales.

Hopefully you will think so, too.
